The ICF Tech Hungary team attended the Simonyi Conference organized by the Technical University of Budapest for the second time this year. Apart from the professional talks and workshops, the visitors could also check out the exhibition of the attending IT companies all day long.
In 2022 this conference gave us the chance to introduce ourselves to one of our main recruitment target groups: engineering students. We awaited the visitors in our booth with fun activities and our CEO Ádám Tóth held a speech about the importance of higher education as well as the skillset of a professional software developer in the business world, especially in an international work environment.
Building on our experiences from last year, in 2023 our highly motivated team of HR, software developers and students from our junior program represented ICF Tech Hungary with one of the most visited booths at the conference. We wanted our booth to not only stand out from the other companies but also reflect our company culture, which is young, creative and professional. We awaited the visitors with coffee, beer pong, prize games and of course, endless information about the company, the junior program and our open positions.
The main attraction was the Pony Panic game, which was developed by our creative software developers and aims to support the recruitment process in a fun and innovative way. With Pony Panic, our candidates are not required to submit a cover letter or a formal application, instead they can simply register on the Pony Panic website and rescue our little pony trapped in a labyrinth. On the Simonyi Conference we took this concept one step further and announced a competition among the attendees in the conference for valuable prizes and a potential job interview at ICF Tech Hungary.
We are thankful for the Technical University for the great conference, that ended quite successfully for ICF Tech Hungary, since our booth was very popular, and we had the opportunity to meet many nice and competent people.
